Moustache-print masks raise awareness for Movember in hospitals across Canada

EDMONTON, Alberta, November 20, 2019 — Even if you are not familiar with the Movember Foundation and their popular annual campaign to raise awareness for men’s health, you have surely noticed the diverse styles of facial hair sprouting up this time every year. From the strangely impressive to the downright absurd, men everywhere have been coming together in bearded solidarity since 2003.

Keeping in the creative spirit of the movement, leading Canadian medical manufacturer PRIMED Medical Products launched a moustache-print mask in 2018, encouraging medical professionals across the country to substitute their usual protective mask for something fun that contributes to an important cause.

Making use of its vast supply network, the Edmonton-based global manufacturer was joined by clinicians throughout Canada as they donned the mask, sharing their enthusiasm and support across social media. The targeted campaign reached over 52,000 clinicians on social media, and PRIMED donated $10,000 from all face mask revenue to the Movember Foundation.

2019 marks the second year of PRIMED's moustache-print masks. Building on the momentum from the previous campaign in which 19 hospitals took part, 25 have signed up to participate this year.

PRIMED staff are also highly engaged in the campaign with commitments to grow their facial hair or walk 60 kilometers throughout the month of November.

To conclude the campaign, PRIMED hosts an event for their staff where they try their luck at a game called, “Spin the Wheel” to determine the fate of their hard-grown facial hair for an entire working day.

The Movember Foundation provides a unique opportunity to raise awareness for the serious health issues affecting men everywhere, and PRIMED is proud to contribute to the cause in a way which creates a fun and supportive atmosphere in hospitals across Canada. Many clinicians benefit from PRIMED masks every day and the PRIMED team is excited to see the moustache-print variant generate even more smiles this November.
